Toni Shift is a hip-hop/electronic producer, born and raised in Enschede, the Netherlands.  Music has always been a part of his life. It all started by playing the organ as a little kid. Starting in a Dutch hip-hop group he made his way in creating his own unique sample-based sound. A lot of these samples he found spotting records on flea markets. It was not until 2006 that he had produced and released his first beat tape, named ‘Skip to my beat tape’. A lot of inspiration came from artists like The Chemical Brothers, Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest and The Pharcyde.   In the beginning of 2008 he got in touch with MC/ Producer Theory Hazit and they made two tracks together. One of which, entitled ‘Day by day’, was released on Toni Shift's second beat tape: ‘Skip to my beat tape 2’. After meeting at a gig at Paradiso in Amsterdam, the two decided to team up and make an EP, which eventually resulted in an LP named: ‘Theory Hazit & Toni Shift - Modern Marvels’.   Toni Shift is currently trying to push his own musical boundaries. Slightly shifting towards house and more electronical music, but still with his own sample-based approach. He joined Dwars Records on which he will release his actual first EP. ‘Trip to the moon’ will be released in november 2013.
